How a Miami Medical Practice Reversed a 70% Ranking Decline and Grew 4.8x in 8 Months

A Miami medical practice was losing visibility on Google month after month. By rebuilding the site's SEO on and off the page, we stopped the decline, then grew its rankings well past where they had ever been, while making the practice visible on AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini.

Semrush organic keywords trend from November 2025 to October 2026: a drop from about 930 keywords to under 300, then growth to more than 1,300
Semrush, organic keywords in the U.S., November 2025 to October 2026. We started in February 2026.

The challenge

When the practice came to us in February 2026, its search visibility was in free fall. In just three months, the number of keywords the site ranked for on Google had dropped from 925 to 275, a 70% decline.

For a medical practice, that means fewer patients finding them when they search for care in Miami, one of the most competitive healthcare markets in Florida. Patients are also starting to ask AI tools like ChatGPT for recommendations, and a site losing ground on Google is unlikely to show up there either.

What we did

  1. Fixed the foundation on the site. We optimized the site's pages and structure so Google could clearly understand the practice, its services and where it serves patients.
  2. Built authority off the site. We strengthened the practice's presence across the web, giving Google more trusted signals that the practice is established and local.
  3. Made the practice visible to AI. The same work that helps Google also helps AI platforms find, understand and recommend a business, so we built with both in mind.

The results

SEO takes time to turn, and this site kept sliding for about two months before the changes took hold. By May, rankings were climbing, and by September the site ranked for 1,317 keywords: 4.8 times more than when we started, and well above its previous high before the decline.
